May is one of my favorite months, not just because I celebrate my birthday.  It is a time to celebrate many things.  My mother's family reunion is always the first Sunday in May, then we have Mother's Day, school's out, graduations, Memorial Day and so much more.  It is an incredibly busy time, but the weather is generally gorgeous.  The Lilly sundresses come out for all the gatherings, and that makes me very happy.

One of my favorite things to do in Marietta in the summer is attend the Glover Park concerts on the last Friday nights of each month.  I rent a table, invite friends and go to work planning a menu and tablescape.  The last concert was a magical evening full of sweet friends and yummy food.

This Friday night, we will gather for a concert to celebrate my birthday that I also share with my sister.  We are not twins.  I was born on her 2nd birthday.  Hope she didn't mind that I crashed her party because I love sharing the day with her.  If you are near the Square, stop by our table and have a glass of strawberry lemonade and visit with us.

Posing with the birthday girl at the photo booth.
The cake was delish!
Last week, I was honored to host a Royal Birthday Tea Party in my backyard for my friend's daughter, Rebecca.  She was turning four and invited fifteen other three and four-year-olds to join in the festivities.  Rebecca's mom, Laura, had so many cute ideas for the party.  My favorite was the photo booth.  Just a simple frame hanging from a tree with tulle.  Then, she had a basket of hats and dress up stuff nearby.  The pictures were precious.

Intelligent conversation over tea.

The tables are set!

You can't have a tea party without tea.

Oh, what girlie fun!
This is the first post for my blog, so I feel a little pressure to write something important.  Who am I kidding?!?  Nothing important here - just ideas I find for entertaining, recipes and other things I love.  The title for my blog is inspired by my nine-year-old niece.  She gave me a book by that title that she bought for me at the school book fair.  She said it reminded her of me.  She will inspire a lot of what I put in my blog!
